Student Distress Fund
There have been several cases of students’ exigencies in terms of sudden critical illness, accidents and life threatening diseases etc. At times the insurance cover is not sufficient and some of the students belonging to weak economic background are unable to meet the cost of the exigency. The institute, too, is unable to access the large sums sometimes required for this purpose. In view of such need(s), this fund was created from donations in the form of aid from alumni/ willing organisations/ individuals and well-wishers. Furthermore, every semester a minimal amount ₹ 100 is collected from all the students. This fund is alloted on recommendation of Associate Dean (Student Welfare) and the Dean of Students.
Benevolent Fund Scheme
In case of 'death only'
of an employee or a student due to an accident anywhere in the world
while on duty or while undergoing studies at the Institute, an outright grant of ₹ 3.00 lakh only
may be paid from the corpus of the Benevolent Fund.
In case of an employee, the amount of grant will be payable to the person entitled to receive the Family Pension / Provident Fund Accumulations.
In case of a student, the amount of grant be payable to a person nominated by the student on a nomination form filled in by the student at the time of initial registration as a student of the Institute and kept on record by the Academic Section in the personal life of the student concerned.
